Energy and Climate Laboratory: Emmi’s apprentices win 1st price
The Energy and Climate Laboratory, the nationwide myclimate education competition for apprentices, awarded the trophies for the best projects of the year on 7 June. Teams from four teams – one of them from Emmi – were honoured for their outstanding achievements this year.
The Energy and Climate Laboratory is a nationwide myclimate education competition for apprentices. Since 2006, apprentices have been able to implement their own projects in companies or at vocational schools, gain valuable practical experience and generate added value. In the 2017/18 training year, a total of 157 projects were submitted, only just short of the record figure for the previous year. Twelve teams were placed on a shortlist in advance, three each in the four project categories of energy, awareness, innovation and planning.
From vision to concrete project – the winners 2017/18
In the awareness category, Tim Stadelmann, Matthias Roth, Sonja Helfer and Marcel Zihlmann formed a team of Emmi apprentices. With their project “Sensitization while washing hands” they had already convinced at the “Emmi Company Challenge”. The idea of encouraging employees to use one less paper towel in the future with their own information film, broadcast on Emmi -V, also impressed the jury of experts at the energy and air-conditioning workshop with its measurable effect. The project reached 3,000 people and demonstrated high savings potential in resources and material costs.
